About Hanson, MA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, Hanson is a modest town with approximately 10,200 residents. This town was originally settled in 1632 and was incorporated in 1820, and it was named for U.S. Senator Alexander Contee Hanson. Like most of the county, Hanson is dominated by swamps, rivers, and lakes, with Oldham Pond serving as one of the largest bodies of water. The Burrage Pond Wildlife Management Area also lies in the South Hanson area.

Hanson is a residential community, but there are a few notable destinations located here. Country Ski and Sport can prepare residents to enjoy their time outdoors regardless of the season, and there are several notable outdoor recreational centers located in nearby Abington – Ames Nowell State Park and Island Grove Park. Both visitors and residents might enjoy getting a cup of coffee at Sandy’s Coffee Corner or the Green Monki Coffee and Roastery. There are also several great restaurants located in Hanson, including the Olde Hitching Post Restaurant, Damien’s, the Café Deli, and Mike’s House of Pizza.

With so many outdoor recreational opportunities available in Hanson, it is important to know what to expect when it comes to the weather in the region. Winters are cold and snowy, which makes conditions great for snowshoeing and cross country skiers. However, since overnight lows can fall well below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, it is crucial that residents have a warm place to retreat at night. HVAC technicians can ensure that their home furnace systems are working properly and at optimal energy efficiency.

Summer conditions tend to be warm to hot in terms of temperature, and high humidity is common throughout the region. While average thermostat readings might reach the 80s in July, the muggy conditions will make it feel much warmer than that. With such heavy air, this can be a difficult time for people who suffer from asthma and other respiratory conditions. Fortunately, an energy efficient air conditioning unit not only keeps indoor temperatures cool, but it can also improve the quality of circulating air to help residents to breathe easy regardless of outdoor conditions.
